Austube Mills congratulates Regson Fabrication for its award-winning work on the newly constructed Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Rectangular Hollow Structural sections supplied by Liberty OneSteel business Austube Mills have played a key role in the construction of the award-winning Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
Australia’s first new hospital in 20 years, the $1.8bn Sunshine Coast University Hospital in Kawana, is now open and is already receiving plaudits. As well as winning two major awards recently, for public architecture and urban design, the high-tech hospital has also been recognised for its construction smarts. Kunda Park-based metalworkers Regson Fabrication won the Contractor of the Year award at the 2017 Master Builders Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards for its work on the Hospital.
Regson’s professionalism was underpinned by its choice of Australian-made Rectangular Hollow Structural (RHS) sections, which it sourced from structural steel pipe and tube supplier Austube Mills, part of Liberty OneSteel. Regson’s award win prompted Austube Mills Queensland Sales Manager Adrian Bothams to say: “It’s great that Australian companies such as Regson Fabrication appreciate the real value of a local supply chain in delivering quality design and construction outcomes, particularly on such an important project for the community.”
